Beginning October 7, I will be teaching “Painting Sea & Land In Watercolor” and “Nuts & Bolts of Portrait Painting” at the Naples Art Association in beautiful downtown Naples, Florida.
In watercolor the focus will be on how color, value, and line are used to paint what you see. We will explore wash, transparency, layering, wet-into-wet, and wax resist. We will also discuss paper types and how to stretch watercolor paper. This class meets four times on Monday mornings. To learn more and to register visit here.
In portrait we will learn how the head is “put together”. We will start with a demonstration on setting up your palette, then working with a live model or from photographs, we will do a breakdown of the proportions of the head. We will also explore lighting and how to mix flesh tones. Classes will include demonstrations and a lot of one-on-one help, as well as tips on getting a likeness. This class meets four times on Tuesday mornings. To learn more and to register visit here.
